How to Remove Personal Information Online
Removing exposed information is usually a process—not a single delete button. Start with the sources that create the greatest safety and privacy risk.

1. Search for exposed records
Search your name together with your city, phone number, email address, and previous addresses. Record the exact page URL, the information displayed, and the date you found it. Avoid downloading or redistributing sensitive material.
2. Prioritize the highest-risk information
Give priority to records that reveal a home address, personal phone number, family connections, workplace, or information that could support impersonation or account recovery attempts.
3. Request removal from the original source
Follow the source’s opt-out or privacy-request process. Search-engine removal can reduce visibility, but removing a result from search does not necessarily delete the information from the website that published it.
4. Keep evidence and track the result
Save confirmation numbers and dates. Some sources require email or identity verification. Share only the minimum information required and confirm that the request channel belongs to the organization you intend to contact.
5. Check again later
Personal information can reappear when a broker refreshes its records. Recheck the original URL and search for new profiles periodically.
